Albion, NY

Have made it to Albion. Woo!

I didn't quite make it all the way on my own, though. I walked around 12 miles and said enough. There was a nice grassy spot between some trees for extra coverage. I was A-OK with camping. So I called Mikken, my planned host for the night, and let her know what was up.

About an hour later she calls and says I'm just a couple miles from her house, and she'd totally be willing to come pick me up. Woo!

And I am very happy with the outcome, as by the time we were sitting down to dinner it was thundering and raining and generally yucky out. My tent has held up through a few storms, but there's really no reason to keep testing it.

Mikken offered to have us stay another night, which we accepted after checking out the weather for Friday night (more showers) and some convincing from Mikken. (It honestly didn't take much.) So we have a nice relaxing day before heading out to Medina tomorrow.

No pictures, because I'm on Mikken's computer updating. But I did have Melissa take a few pictures of Anna and me, so that'll be something. Hopefully they came out okay. It'd be nice to have a picture of me on this trip, not just of scenery and Anna. (Although she is super adorable.)

Good choice staying another night, not just because of the weather. There's no reason not to visit a bit longer with Mikken!
