Mother's Day: or My Mom is Awesome

One example of how my mom is awesome: When I first came up with this wacky plan to walk around the US, my mom was not exactly enthusiastic. And then as I quit my job and started preparing for departure, she was still not 100% on board.

I mean, let's face it, it's not the safest or smartest of plans.

However, the entire time I've been walking my mom has been there for me whenever I call. She's been my GPS when I've gotten turned around, she's been someone to listen to me whine when I'm bored or disappointed or want to give up. And she's kept me up on all the new developments in GuildWars and GuildWars2, which might not seem important, but totally is.

Generally, she's been awesome about the whole thing and I really don't know if I would have made it this far without her help.

That's the way my mom is. She's not really keen on a lot of the things her children do, but once we're actually doing them she's right there behind us with support and encouragement.

When I wanted dreadlocks, she wasn't really cool with the idea. But you know who rented movies and sat down with me for hours creating the dreads? That's right, my mom.

I know not everyone has a good relationship with their mother, and I feel incredibly lucky to have such an awesome mom.

(And my dad is just as awesome, just so's you know. But this isn't his day yet, so he just has to wait.)

That's what Moms do, Kelly- They may not "agree or approve" but they support- No matter what you do or where you go or how old you get, your Mom will always be your biggest supporter.
